Avery Lyons

Meet Avery

Avery is from San Diego, California and a second-year undergraduate student at WSU. When she’s not in class or at the lab, Avery enjoys reading, playing guitar, working at a vet clinic, and hanging out with friends! She has been accepted to the honors 7-year program and will attend WSU’s College of Veterinary Medicine in Fall 2026 to get her DVM and specialize in a field of vet med.

Avery is working alongside Jocelynn on single cell comparative analysis of gene clusters in the placenta of humans, rats, and cattle. She is specifically investigating the differences and function of trophoblast cells in both cattle and humans.

You can contact Avery at avery.lyons@wsu.edu for any questions. 🐳
